Decades ago, when 100% vegetable diets were first used in dogs and cats, this concern about the appearance of stones...
VEGGIEANIMALSEXPERIENCE - HELP
One of the objectives of VeggieAnimals when it began its journey, in 2014, was to create 100% vegetable food for dogs and cats, which would cover all their needs.
Over the years we have been checking how it also helps animals with various allergies and pathologies, and that makes us VERY happy.
Something that has caught our attention is that both private customers and protectors, shelters and sanctuaries, buy VeggieAnimals to give it to the most grandparents for health reasons since they are feed that do not contain the toxins that has meat, nor the medicines they give to animals that are converted into meat feed and, in addition, we use natural flavorings instead of glutamate or artificial flavorings.
Today we have with us a grandfather who has us in love, his name is Help, he suffers from hepatocellular cancer, and his mother, Cátia, goes to explain his experience:
VeggieAnimals: Who is Help?
Help arrived about 8 months ago. He came because he was older (he is approximately 16 -17 years old), he has diabetes insipidus (controlled with desmopressin) and 3 months ago he had an episode of bad health that made us think that he would not survive.
There, with ultrasound and cytology we saw that he had hepatocarcinoma, his liver had a very important destructuring. We’ve thought about it and talked about it with our vetoes and given the age, the emotional dependence it presents on me and how bad it is for other people to touch or grope it, We have decided on palliative care at home and no more tests or aggressive treatments.
We started with medication for nausea, pain and hydration. A week later the symptoms had subsided and it was "normal" again, without discomfort. She’s been out of symptom control for three months.
VeggieAnimals: Since when does Help feed 100% vegetable and what did it eat before?
Help and his brothers, cats and dogs, have almost 1 month feeding 100% vegetable form, before eating Ownat Light.
VeggieAnimals: Why did you decide to feed it with VeggieAnimals?
I am vegan since 2013. I had the bug that my dogs and cats went to feed 100% vegetable form for a long time, but I always pulled back.
At the end of 2021 I saw a live Instagram VeggieAnimals with Rita Silva, president of ANIMAL. I looked for information about the company, I really liked the philosophy and care with nutrition and I decided to make the change of food for the kids.
VeggieAnimals: How does your veterinarian/veterinarian feel about eating this way?
The truth is that I do not usually discuss with veterinarians the feeding of the kids. I learn about their needs and look for the best way to feed them. It’s a conversation we haven’t had yet.
VeggieAnimals: Do you think that 100% vegetable food is helping Help with its hepatocarcinoma? What changes have you noticed when offering 100% vegetable food?
I don’t see any change in Help since the food change. Help loves to eat, for him eating is a party. He did not reject the new food at any time, he is thrilled to eat it and, in addition, he loves the quinoa and banana awards. We give you a few at night, before you go to sleep and vibrate with them ❤
He still has no nausea or vomiting and his intestinal transit is still perfect, so the new food is sitting very well.
Help’s mom dedicates her life to animals, THANK YOU!:
I studied in Salamanca from 2009 - 2015 (where I started volunteering in a prote of cats and dogs, Fundación Luna). From 2015 to 2019 I lived again in Lisbon, where I dedicated myself between work and study to volunteering in a protector, to União Zoófila, also of dogs and cats, from 2016 to 2019 (in which we had adopted from 2012 to 2015 to 3 dogs).
In 2018 I began to host animals of that prote that were in a situation of extreme fragility, some of them terminal (oncology, cardiopaths, with spinal cord injury). In 2019 I came to live in Galicia, Pontevedra, and currently we live in a house with a farm (which caused us to increase the number of welcomed).
