... If it is a young animal and it is the first time it has been stung, it may suffer a hypersensitivity reaction, but not an allergy, so it is less likely to be serious. However, if it has been stung before, it is more likely to suffer an allergic reaction.

Dogs and cats DO NOT SWEAT like humans do. Skin sweating like in humans occurs in horses, hippos and primates (no, pigs do not sweat like humans either).

Providing 100% vegetarian food to our four-legged buddies comes with a responsibility for us. As with any other food, we need to allow for a 5-day adaptation period if the animal is healthy, and longer if we suspect that the animal could be intolerant to some ingredient or if some other parameter needs to be evaluated during the transition from its previous feed to the new one.

Cats that have tested positive need to be fed high quality food that does not strain their bodies with the elimination of excess toxins, as is the case with meat-based feed, or having to deal with a deficit of nutrients, as is the case with low-quality feed.

This is something we can allow occasionally, but we cannot make it a routine, i.e. dogs cannot be fed cat food no matter how much they like it - nor can it be the other way around. If it happens during a short period of their lives we will most likely not see any symptoms. However, in the long term, not eating the right nutrients for their species, either in excess or by default, can cause health problems which, in some cases, can be irreversible.

In the case of dogs, the most common ingredients that cause allergies are:beef, chicken, dairy, eggs, corn, wheat and soybeans. However, in cats allergies to dairy or fish are more common.

Cuando tomamos la decisión de cambiar la alimentación de nuestros compañeros felinos debemos ser responsables, debemos mantener un control muy estricto, porque sí, los gatos son carnívoros, y la adaptación de sus cuerpos a una alimentación vegana puede ser muy rápida y positiva o puede requerir de un proceso de transición más largo.
